Graeme Robertson will go for a hat-trick of Loch Lomond Whiskies Scottish PGA Championship titles at the venue where his glory-laden run started.
The national championship returns to Scotscraig in 2025 as the splendid Fife course stages the Tartan Tour’s flagship event for the second time in three years.
Robertson, who made his debut on the PGA Tour in Bermuda recently, lifted the silverware at Scotscraig in 2023 and since then he has become the dominant force on the domestic scene.
The Grangemouth pro added the Northern Open to his collection last season before retaining his Scottish PGA Championship crown at Dalmahoy to become the first back-to-back winner since Ross Drummond in 1990.
The Scottish PGA Championship, which will be held from August 26-29, will headline another action-packed schedule of cherished staples and new additions.
As part of The PGA’s Open Series, the Northern Open will head to the treasured links of Royal Dornoch while the Order of Merit, once again sponsored by Arnold Clark, features a number of 36-hole shoot-outs, including confirmed stops at Hilton Park, Strathmore Golf Centre and Arbroath Links
The Deer Park Masters Pro-Am and the Kerr Investments Pro-Am, two popular perennials of the Tartan Tour, also feature on the Order of Merit.
The top-10 players on the final rankings will be invited to Gleneagles in October for the season-ending Arnold Clark Tour Championship, a one-day Pro-Am which also features representatives from host venues and valued sponsors of The PGA in Scotland.
On the Young Professionals’ front, the showpiece occasion, the Scottish Young Professionals’ Championship, will return to beautiful Crieff in early July.
The Sandy Pipey Masters takes up its usual residency at Royal Dornoch in September while the Young Professionals’ Order of Merit, sponsored by ProScot Golf Tours, will be bolstered by 18-hole showdowns at Gleneagles, Deeside and Bathgate.
The veteran campaigners of the Tartan Tour will be well catered for in 2025, with a Senior Order of Merit including18-hole stableford competitions at venues such as Haggs Castle, Bruntsfield Links and Dumbarnie Links.
A 36-Hole PGA Scotland Senior Championship will also run in conjuction with the Scottish PGA Championship at Scotscraig.
In a rich and varied programme, The PGA Scotland Fourball Series, usually held during the traditional off-season, will run from the spring right through until the autumn to provide further playing opportunities for members.
The Pro-Am scene, for so long the lifeblood of the Tartan Tour, continues to grow with new stops in 2025 including Erskine, Muir of Ord and Gleddoch.
Long running favourites such as Portpatrick, Bothwell Castle and the 54-hole Highland Golf Links Pro-Am are also pencilled in with further Pro-Ams to be announced in the new year.
With two PGA National Finals – The PGA Super 60s at Cardrona and The PGA Fourball Championship at Strathmore Golf Centre – taking place on Scottish soil in 2025, the new season promises to provide some captivating competition at a host of terrific venues.
