James Taverner (Hendon) shot a superb 64 as he surged to a four-stroke success at the Girton Pro-Am.
Taverner fired a five-under-par effort to beat Ed Morton (EM Golf Studio) and Stuart Brown (Thorpe Wood).
He was two-under at the turn before dropping a shot at the 10th. But Taverner bounced back with birdies at the next two holes and secured another at the 15th.
And he signed off by picking up a stroke at the last to ensure an emphatic win – his first on the 2015 PGA in England (East) schedule.
While it is the traditional holiday season in England, it is very much a busy time for East region professionals. Earlier in the week, Roger Gray (Thorndon Park) took the Rochford Hundred Pro-Am, shooting five-under-par (66).
Starting at the seventh, Gray enjoyed a real hot streak midway through his round as he birdied three consecutive holes from the 14th.
Once again, Brown was runner-up, this time alongside Adam Winwood (Brentwood Park Golf Range) – the pair registering respective 68s.
Meanwhile, the Ingrebourne Valley Par-Three Championship was won by Glen Portelli (Verulam).
He claimed the victory via a play-off after finishing three-under-par alongside James Jankowski.
