Scottish PGA champion Greig Hutcheon scored his fifth win of the season after finishing a single shot clear at the Muir Deer Park Masters.

The Banchory man’s win boosted his earnings from the Tartan Tour alone close to the £22,800, as he heads towards a repeat of last season's Order of Merit and money table double whammy.

Hutcheon stormed through at the Livingstone venue to win with a six-under-66, two better than his first-day effort, and card a 10-under-par total of 134 to lift the £2,250 first prize.

His road to victory started with an outward half of five-under-par 31, made up of birdies at the long second, fourth, short seventh, long eighth and ninth.

Coming home he birdied the long 12th and 15th but dropped a shot at the 13th.

Over the 36 holes he had only two bogeys and 12 birdies.

Hutcheon won by a single shot from Chris Kelly (Cawder) who earned £1,640 for an aggregate of 135 (67-68).

Overnight leader Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs) slumped from a leading 66 to an also-ran 74 for a total of 140 and a £426 financial reward, much less than he would have earned had he not had a double bogey 6 at the 11th and bogeys at the fourth and 17th.

Birdies at the 13th and 18th were too little too late.
