The PGA becomes the tenth EIGCA patron

13/05/2021

The European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) has announced The PGA as its tenth patron.

Part of the EIGCA’s role is to support, develop and educate the leading golf course architects based, or working, in Europe.

One way this is achieved is to establish links with related organisations, which is why The PGA has pledged its support as a patron.

Christoph Städler, EIGCA President, commented: "We are delighted to have the support of The PGA in furthering the golf course design profession.

"Both organisations have a common aim of professionalising the golf industry and the synergies between both organisations, such as members spread across the world and education programmes to develop future generations of professionals in the golf industry, provide exciting opportunities to work together in the future.

”We are excited for what lies ahead in terms of establishing ways in which this patronage will be mutually beneficial to the members of both organisations.”

The EIGCA is a professional body which represents Europe's most qualified golf course architects. They enhance the status of the golf course design profession, increase the opportunities for members to practice throughout the world and educate future golf course architects. The EIGCA has almost 100 Members and Associate Members spread throughout 25 countries.

Robert Maxfield, Chief Executive of The PGA, added: “PGA Members hold a huge variety of positions and play key roles in the design, development and ongoing management of golf courses and resorts across the world.

"We are delighted to have become a patron of the EIGCA and look forward to working with them and their members to help to continue that development of the game.”
