The PGA signs letter to Prime Minister to keep golf open

03/11/2020

PGA Chief Executive Robert Maxfield is a signatory on a letter to the Prime Minister asking the Government to allow golf to continue during lockdown by highlighting the positive health benefits the game offers.

Craig Tracey MP – the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Golf – has written to Boris Johnson on behalf of The PGA, England Golf, The R&A, BIGGA and other leading groups from the golf industry.

In the letter, it is argued that golf courses should stay open from Thursday as an extension of recreation due to the benefits it provides for physical and, perhaps more importantly, mental health.
