The PGA has joined other leading golfing organisations from around the world by pledging its support for the people of Ukraine and making a contribution towards the ‘Golfers For Ukraine’ appeal.
The global appeal was set up last week to raise funds for UNICEF and its work supporting people affected by the conflict. The current total stands at more than £467,000
The PGA joins other leading golfing bodies, including The R&A, The DP World Tour, The PGA Tour, the USGA and the Ladies European Tour in supporting the appeal by promoting its dedicated hashtag #GOLFERSFORUKRAINE through the Association’s social channels and website.
UNICEF
All money raised from the ‘Golfers For Ukraine’ appeal will go towards UNICEF’s efforts on the ground, as they provide lifesaving help and hope to children and families.
UNICEF is trucking safe water to conflict-affected areas and prepositioning health, hygiene and emergency supplies as close as possible to families near the contact line. In addition, UNICEF is supporting mobile child protection teams providing psychosocial care to traumatised children and those separated from family.
In neighbouring countries, UNICEF is setting up safe spaces called 'Blue Dots' for children and families on the move, to provide key information to traveling families, safe spaces for mothers and children, and the ability to identify unaccompanied and separated children and ensure their protection.
