Ross Langdon (Brickhampton Court) landed his third win of the season in the Gloucester and Somerset PGA event at Forest Hills.
With the ground still frozen following an overnight frost the scoring system was changed to the stableford format. The powerful Cheltenham-based player carded 38 points to lead Cirencester’s Mark Plummer.
He scored at every hole, dropping shots at the fifth and 16th countered by birdies at the fourth, 10th, 15th and 17th.
Former Welsh national champion Plummer has featured highly every time he has played this season and shot level par worth 36 points with three birdies and three bogeys.
Henbury assistant Michael Hunt was the first of five players to post 35 points. He was joined by Daryl Kelley (Filton), Ed Goodwin (Cirencester), George Ryall (Burnham & Berrow) and last week’s winner Brickhampton Court amateur Alex Ireland.
Giuseppe Licata (Chipping Sodbury) maintained his lead in the Total Triumph Order of Merit and shared eighth alongside his nearest challenger Russ Berry (Broadway).
