Three and easy for Jason

Jason Levermore (Little Channels Golf Centre) proved a class above at Hadley Wood where he recorded his third East region victory of the season.

The reigning order of merit champion shot a flawless round of 66 to secure a three-shot success from the in-form James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City). The Hertfordshire-based golfer set the pace in the morning with a fine round of 69.

Levermore was among the afternoon starters, beginning at the par-4 16th. The Essex ace made a flying start with a birdie at his opening hole and it was a sign of things to come.

He made three more before putting distance between himself and the field with an eagle at the 504-yard par-5 14th.

Levermore enjoyed a ‘double’ on the day as he led the successful team on a total of 126 – two better than the quartets of Ruebotham and Andy Pestell (Chelmsford).
