David Ryan (Cahir Park), Jimmy Bolger (Kilkenny Golf Club) and Neil O’Briain (Old Conna Golf Club) shared first place at The Crown Bar Pro-Am at Wexford Golf Club.
The trio coped admirably in very windy conditions, carding rounds of one-under-par 70 to stay one shot ahead of Damien McGrane.
In-form O’Briain, winner of the recent PGA Southern Championship, carded three birdies and two bogeys while Bolger followed suit to earn a place in the winner’s enclosure for the first time this year.
Ryan, by contrast, delivered a mixed bag of bogeys, birdies and an eagle. Eight pars and a birdie saw him reach the turn 35 to be one-under-par. He then eagled the par five 10th but bogeyed the 11th and double-bogeyed the 15th before signing off with a birdie.
Neil O’Briain guided his amateur partners - Louis Flanagan, Larry Gainfort and Derek Casey – to victory in the team event with 89 points.
