Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) won the second Devon PGA medal of the winter with a three-under-par 66 at Torquay.
His round contained five birdies and one dropped shot in each half as his consistency brought halves of 34 and 32 as he beat nearest rival Nick Horrocks (Staddon Heights) by three shots.
Horrocks rescued his round with the day’s only eagle, a three at the 538-yard 12th after recovering from dropping three early shots.
Christian Vine (Woodbury Park) shed three shots over the opening three holes but bounced back with four birdie threes over the next six holes.
But he dropped four more shots in four holes from the 17th to share third on 71.
Tom Jessamine (Woodbury Park) returned the same mark with a more
consistent round that featured just one birdie. Jack Venn (Boringdon
Park) made three birdies in his two-over 71, his best performance, with Nicky Maddison (Saunton) sixth on 72.
