It was a player-jam at the top of the leaderboard in the West Lothian Golf Club pro-am.
Gareth Wright (West Linton), Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) and Christopher Currie (Caldwell) tied for first place with three-under-par rounds of 68 and earned £877 each.
Currie would count himself the unlucky loser of the trio. With three holes to play, the Caldwell man was five-under-par, needing to par his way in for a 66 and a two-stroke victory.
Instead, Currie was anything but hot stuff with a bogey at the 16th, a birdie at the 17th and a double bogey five at the short 18th.
Fox's birdie at the 16th after parring every hole from the ninth put him into the top trio.
Gareth Wright rivalled Currie in the "ways to lose a tournament."
The Welshman, out in 33, bogeyed the short 15th and 17th for 35 home.
Gleneagles Scottish professional champion Chris Kelly led the West Lothian Ladies team to victory in the pro-am event with a 14-under-par score of 57. The team members and their handicaps were: Maureen Shanks (10), Joyce Clelland (20) and Gillian McNeill (13).
