Three tie for victory in West Lothian pro-am

It was a player-jam at the top of the leaderboard in the West Lothian Golf Club pro-am.

Gareth Wright (West Linton), Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) and Christopher Currie (Caldwell) tied for first place with three-under-par rounds of 68 and earned £877 each.

Currie would count himself the unlucky loser of the trio. With three holes to play, the Caldwell man was five-under-par, needing to par his way in for a 66 and a two-stroke victory.

Instead, Currie was anything but hot stuff with a bogey at the 16^th, a birdie at the 17^th and a double bogey five at the short 18^th.

Fox's birdie at the 16^th after parring every hole from the ninth put him into the top trio.

Gareth Wright rivalled Currie in the "ways to lose a tournament."

The Welshman, out in 33, bogeyed the short 15^th and 17^th for 35 home.

Gleneagles Scottish professional champion Chris Kelly led the West Lothian Ladies team to victory in the pro-am event with a 14-under-par score of 57. The team members and their handicaps were: Maureen Shanks (10), Joyce Clelland (20) and Gillian McNeill (13).
