Neil Holman (Torbay Driving Range) and Rob Glazier (Dartmouth) were the only duo not to drop a shot in the Devon PGA annual Christmas Pairs at Dawlish Warren, but their seven-under par 62 was only good enough to share first place.
Darren Everett and Ryan Pope (Exeter) also finished on 62 after starting on the back nine and they made an eagle on the 12th and a birdie at the sixth.
Gary Milne (Woodbury Park) playing with Nicky Maddison (Saunton) also eagled the 12th but made two bogeys as the third pair to tie after two nines of 31.
The format for the 16 pairs was nine holes Better ball and nine holes Texas Scramble.
Before the event 2017 captain Alistair Welsher (Tiverton) presented West Region Secretary Robert Moss with a cheque for £500 in aid of The PGA Benevolent Fund – money raised from the birdies made by the Devon PGA players through the season.
At the annual meeting Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) was installed as the new captain.
The Devon PGA take a mid-winter break until the Winter Medal series resumes at Teignmouth on February 8.
