Sandy Jones has hailed the exposure the Scottish Golf Show has offered to both PGA Professionals and the Ryder Cup.
The PGA's chief executive was among the thousands of golfers attending the first of three action packed days of the golfing extravaganza at Glasgow's SECC which is being sponsored for an eighth successive year by VisitScotland.
Among the popular attractions were free lessons with PGA Professionals plus the opportunity to get photographed with the famous Ryder Cup trophy.
"This is the first time I have visited the show and I was really impressed," said Jones who was in Glasgow following a fundraising event for Prince's Hospice with Paul Lawrie.
"The enthusiasm and appetite for golf in Scotland remains undimmed despite the snow and wet weather that greeted the first day of the show.
"The show is a great advert for the game and it was fantastic to see people queuing up to have their pictures taken with the Ryder Cup.
"The show was also an ideal vehicle to showcase the expert coaching of our PGA Members with free lessons and I'm delighted so many took the opportunity to receive that expert advice that is so crucial to not only improving but also enjoying the game."
Dr Mike Cantlay, chairman of VisitScotland, added:"The Scottish Golf Show has been a huge success and, in our opinion, helps to profile everything that is great about the game here in the country of its birth."
