 Tee Time Management PS

Tee Time Management, the latest eLearning course by Promote Training, has been launched to widespread interest within the UK golf industry.

This new course brings together the best practices and strategies that can be employed to maximise tee time availability as well as the analysis that can be undertaken in order to identify times of least efficiency and guide promotional planning.

Section 1 – Tee Times or No Tee Times?

Section one looks at the advantages and disadvantages of a tee booking policy and explores the idea of a ‘check-in’ system that can be employed at clubs that don’t require the reservation of tee times.

Section 2 – The Foundations of a Booking Policy

Section two goes into the foundations of a tee booking policy. This covers how a club can ascertain the ideal tee time interval for their course, the influences of the booking window in relation to how far in advance different customer segments can book and the importance of a cancellation policy. It goes further by exploring the impact of online tee booking systems and the malpractices that can take place that negatively impact course utilisation and revenue.

Section 3 – Maximising Course Utilisation

The third section looks at the actual booking process and how tee reservations can be taken in a way that encourages off-peak utilisation. This part of the course uses sound-clips of tee booking conversations in order to highlight a 9-stage tee reservation process that all employees can follow.

Section 4 – Strategies to Increase Utilisation

The course goes on to look at the best practices for increasing utilisation, from callback reserve lists through to silent tee-times. This section also uses sound-clips to give examples of how employees can comfortably implement the strategies.

Section 5 – Key Performance Indicators

In the penultimate section, the analysis of the tee sheet comes to prominence. It highlights a number of “Key Performance Indicators” that need to be continually monitored and analysed, covering utilisation, financial performance, arrival statistics and booking trends.

Section 6 – Applied Tee Time Management

Concluding the course is a section entitled “Applied Tee Time Management”, which highlights how tee sheet KPI’s can be used to guide utilisation strategies but also promotional activity.

Aimed at those club staff responsible for managing the tee booking process and on-course traffic flow, the course is equally applicable to proprietary clubs and private-member clubs, a point Matthew Orwin, Co-Founder of Promote Training, is keen to stress:

“For any club that has had the complaint from a customer that they couldn’t get the tee time they wanted, this course is a must. It’s packed with strategies and ideas on how maximum efficiency can be achieved during these peak-demand times without necessarily impacting on speed of play - thereby accommodating as many customers as practically possible.”

Taking approximately 15 hours to complete, the eLearning format of the course means delegates can undertake the training in the comfort of their own home or workplace, at a pace that suits them.

PGA Professionals undertaking this course receive a 25% discount and will be credited with 85 CPD points for successful completion of the training as part of the PGA’s Member Education Programme. To access this course, click here.
