Mark Stokes (Bishop’s Stortford) birdied his final two holes to pip Jason Levermore (Little Channels Golf Centre)) for the Ingrebourne Links Par-3 Championship.
Stokes made a two at the 97-yard penultimate hole and another at the last, playing 66 yards.
The birdie brace lifted him to four-under-par, one clear of Levermore.
At the halfway point Stoke was two adrift of Glen Portelli (Old Fold Manor) and Ian Dudman (Golfband). They were three-under for their opening nine.
But neither was able to break par for their second loop of the exciting nine-hole lay-out, while Stokes advanced with a three-under tally.
There was a four-way tie for third place with Portelli, Scott Hudson (Warren), Darren Turner (Ingrebourne Links Golf Complex) and James Webber (The Rayleigh Club) all at two-under.
