Top ‘Mark’ for Talbott

Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hal) shot a flawless round of 63 to land a six-shot success in the Berkhamsted Golf Club 125th Anniversary Festival Pro-Am.
Talbott was in majestic form as he recorded an eight-under-round in which there were no dropped shots.
A birdie two at the short second hole set him on his way and he was four-under at the turn.
He made similarly serene progress on his back nine, making four more birdies, including a three at the last.
It was Talbott’s second East Region success in 2015 – but his first outright win, having tied at the top in the Links Pro-Am at Newmarket four weeks ago.
Jason Levermore (Channels) and Noel Quinn (Whipsnade Park) both shot two-under-par 69s to share second spot.
To add to the excitement, Andrew George (Ely City) had a hole-in-one at the 205-yard, par-three 15th hole. It came just holes after he’d registered an eight in a rollercoaster round of 72, which left him tied-eighth.
