There was a three-way tie at the first of the two Grove Pro-Ams as Michael Moore, Brett Taylor and Charlie Luther all finished at three-under-par.
Moore (Pinner Hill) set the early clubhouse lead thanks to a round that contained five birdies.
Indeed, he opened by picking up a shot at the first and second holes. Then, having given those strokes back to the card, Moore rattled in a three straight birdies from the ninth.
His final tally of 69 was matched in the early evening by Taylor, who produced a stirring finish to his round. He made birdie at three of the last five holes to join Moore.
The final group out on the course included the in-form Luther and he notched four birdies in making it a three-way tie at the summit.
The performance continued his fine run of form. Luther (Hertfordshire G&CC) has also shared a pro-am victory at Saffron Walden and won outright at Leighton Buzzard in August.
Nick Ansell (Centurion Club) finished in a tie for fourth and led the winning team, too. Their total was 129 – two better than the next best.
