The top three could not be separated in the Saffron Walden Pro-Am, each tying on three-under to take home a share of the prize.
Joint winners completing the course in 69 were Canons Brook assistant Tyler Wink, helped by eight birdies, Paul Hetherington (pictured) of Great Hadham Golf and Country Club and Phil Abbott of John O’Gaunt.
Four more players finished a single shot behind the leaders. Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range), Ian Ellis (Costessey Park), Ben Cooper (Bishop’s Stortford) and Daniel Poulter (Kartel Golf) all signed for 70.
Behind them another four players were one-under-par making it a total of 11 sub-par rounds out of a field of 46. They were Steven Hambling (Braintree), Neil Mitchell (Bury Golf Range), Darren Charlton (Dunstable Downs) and Stuart Brown (Orton Meadows).
There were three eagles, all at par five holes, from Mark Davis (Thorndon Park), Andrew George (Ely City) and Andrew Pestell (Chelmsford). There were two stoppages for thunderstorms but the tournament was completed while there was still enough light.
Pestell led the winning team of Geoff Woolerson, Gary King and Bill Hall who carded 16-under-par 128. Charlton, Olly Tuck, Mark Reeve and Adam Mackay were runners-up with 131. Third place went to Hetherington, Geoff Mansfield, Nick Baker and Michael Price with 132.
