Future golf stars in the PGA South West region have been given a boost by loyal sponsor Turier Scales agreeing to maintain its support for them by backing a series of tournaments.

The West Midlands-based company has supported the Titleist & FootJoy Assistants & Under 30s Sprint Series, which has been won by Marlborough Golf Club’s Ben Amor, a former winner of the English Boys Under 18 Open Amateur Stroke-Play Championship.

In addition, Turier Scales are backing the West Region Assistants’ Championship which will see James Frazer (above) defending his title at Mendip Spring Golf Club, Somerset, in August.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Turier Sales managing director and keen golfer Nigel Newport-Black said: “Turier Scales are pleased to be able to renew their association with the South West Regional PGA.

“The opportunity to support up and coming talent from within the region is vital for the future of the game at all levels, amateur as well as professional.

“Whether they progress to become a playing member of a Tour or run a successful shop at a club, they will be the lifeblood of the game moving forwards.”

Robert Moss, PGA South West regional manager, added: “Our young professionals are the future of the game at both elite and club level so this support from Turier Scales is a massive boost.

“We have benefitted from a long relationship with Turier Scales and are extremely grateful for their generosity and continuing support.”
