Every golf club has them. Every golf club has lost some. Every golf club has the potential to influence them. Every golf should be looking to turn them into regular players. Which is what this article intends to do.
Whether they are members or otherwise every golf club has a large number of occasional golfers. They are defined as “golfers who play less than 12 rounds a year”. The reality is that these individuals offer a fantastic opportunity for you to drive revenue at the club. Unlike new golfers or beginners, who people assume should be the target of your efforts, the occasional golfer already enjoys, and can play, golf! All you need to do is exploit that.
So, look at it from a different perspective and ask yourself why don’t they play regularly? There may be a vast number of reasons for this, but for most, it is likely that they will state time demands as one issue and enjoyment as another, and these are what you need to address.
The good news is that the PGA, along with leading marketing agency RetailTribe have designed a number of plays to assist PGA Professionals, and their clubs, drive engagement and participation at the club. All you need to do is follow the guidelines provided. Here are four plays currently available (completely FREE!) on PGA.info:
Scheduled around the more time-effective 75-90 minutes activities, these plays focus on increasing fun and enjoyment at the club and will deliver the effects you need! Telling you everything from pre-event preparation, to on-the-day operations, and the all important follow-up procedures, these plays will help you to turn those occasional golfers into regular golfers and, in doing so, will benefit the club’s business and your business!
