Former European Tour player Oliver Whiteley showed he'd lost none of his competitive spirit when he shared the spoils in the PGA in England and Wales (North) Mansell Finishes Winter Series at Formby.
The 23-year-old, who quit the circuit two years ago and is working as an assistant at Bramall Park, birdied three holes in a row from the third on his way to a three-under-par 69.
His score was matched by Matthew Daley, an assistant at Yorkshire club Hainsworth Park, who produced five birdies all told.
With two fixtures out of the series of six remaining, Ringway's David Brunton leads the Order of Merit by 150 points from Mossock Hall's David Shacklady.
