Victory for Vandenberg and Levers

Michael Vandenberg (Rochford Hundred) birdied the final hole to rein in Jason Levermore (Little Channels Golf Centre) and share the spoils in the Haverhill Pro-Am.

Vandenberg matched Levermore’s three at the closing hole to ensure the pair split the honours after respective rounds of 67.

Levermore was out early and fired an eagle and five birdies on his way to a three-under-par tally.

Vandeberg flew through the front nine, turning in three-under. He made a further gain at the 11th before being temporarily checked by bogies at the next two holes.

But he kept his cool to sign off with a birdie at the last to deny Levermore outright victory.

Paul Maddy (Gog Magog) was third on one-under-par, while Levermore’s quartet easily won the team event on 22-under.
