Ian Walley’s fine year continued in Staffordshire as he stole a march on the competition to take victory in the Leek pro-am.
The PGA in England (Midlands) captain and Kedleston Park pro shot one of only three below-par scores during a challenging day over the undulating Staffordshire Moorlands layout.
Walley's 66 contained five birdies with just the one blemish on his card at the par-three 11th.
His round gave him a two-shot winning margin over Andrew Jones who actually exceeded Walley's birdie count with six but was left to rue a costly double bogey at the tricky 15th hole.
His 68 was matched by Paul Streeter. The Lincoln Golf Centre star managed seven birdies himself, but also dropped five shots in a topsy turvy round.
In the team event Andrew Jones led his fourball, Discount Discs, to a comfortable four shot victory with a team total of 125.
