Michael Watson completed a hat-trick of wins in successive days to make it nine victories for the season and continue his incredible winning streak.

This time he blistered round the tricky Truro track in Cornwall with a three-under-par round of 63.

This follows wins at Upavon and Parkstone and was his fourth in six days, as he also shared first place at Farrington Park the previous Sunday. His only blip along the way was at Remedy Oak, where he finished 14th.

This time the Wessex Golf Centre professional birdied the first, seventh and 13th holes before losing his only shot at the 15th, but regained it at the 18th.

He was pressed all the way by Christian Vine (Woodbury Park) whose birdie at the third was followed by a bogey at the fifth and a double at the next hole.

But he recovered well with an eagle at the eighth followed by successive birdies. He dropped another shot at the 14th before a birdie at the last took him to 64 for second place.

But this was shared with Gary Emerson (Playgolf Bournemouth) who started convincingly with birdies at the fourth, fifth and seventh. He lost shots at the 13th and 15th but made a birdie at the 17th.

Top Cornishman Richard Sadler (Killiow) started with two birdies and made another at the 11th before fading to fourth with two late bogeys.

Vine led his team to victory on 20-under-par 114, one better than Neil Holman (Torbay Golf Centre) with Adam Frayne (Yelverton) on 117.
