Webber rules at Thorndon

James Webber held out to defeat Andy Shakespear (The Warren) in the final of the PGA in Essex Assistants' Matchplay Championship at Thorndon Park.

The Three Rivers assistant was one off the pace at the turn on a beautiful spring afternoon, but prevailed to take the title and earn the final exemption to the Essex Open.

Neil Bird from Leisure Link, the main sponsor of the PGA in Essex, presented the trophy and winner’s cheque.
