Jason Levermore (Channels) shot a six-under-par 67 to notch up a victory in the Marston’s Beer Head Professionals Championship at Brocket Hall.

The PGA in England (East) 2014 Order of Merit winner topped a field of 58 players after carding seven birdies and an eagle.

Levermore was four-under after just seven holes of the Palmerston Course. And, despite a blip at the eighth, he strengthened his position by making a three at the par-five 10th hole.

He traded a couple of bogies for birdies over the next five holes before signing off by picking up another shot at the 18th.

Levermore had Jason Groat (Denver) and Darren Charlton (Dunstable Downs) a shot behind him, while a round of 70 from Darren Scholes (Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre) had him in outright fourth place.

“It is nice to get my first PGA in England (East) win for 2015 under the belt,” said Levermore, who is set to tee up at Wentworth later this month in the BMW PGA Championship.
