Liam Whelan (Craddockstown) and Tara Delaney (The Eddie Doyle Golf Academy) topped the leaderboard at the Black Bush Ladies Assistants Pro-Am.
The duo carded rounds of one under par 72 at the Co Meath venue to finish one shot ahead of Daniel O'Connor and Michael McGeady (Seamus Duffy Golf Academy).
Whelan, a first-year professional, produced some composed golf on the day that included five birdies and four bogeys.
“I played pretty nicely. Picked up a couple of birdies early on, wobbled a bit in the middle but finished really nicely with two birdies in my closing three holes,” said the 19-year-old.
Delaney was delighted to collect her first win at any level as a professional especially after a poor start that saw her double-bogey her third hole of the round.
“A couple over after three wasn't ideal but I just kept going and made a couple of pars and then I eagled the 10th and followed that up with a couple more birdies,” said Tara who hit a four iron from 190 yards into 15 feet for her eagle.
“It just kind of came together a bit. I hit a couple of good shots and managed to hole a couple of putts.”
The team event was won by St Margaret's professional, Shane Jenkinson, who guided his amateur partners round in 87 points.
