Daniel Whitby-Smith and his Club Captain, Liam Molesworth (Drayton Park Golf Club) took on their regional neighbours, Pat Ruff and Club Captain, Jason Moore (Sutton Coldfield Golf Club) in a play-off, with Molesworth scoring a par net birdie to win the trophy for the Drayton Park team.
The SkyCaddie PGA Pro-Captain Challenge Final, held at PGA National Italy, Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort, brings PGA Professionals and Club Captains together for a memorable experience under the Tuscan sunshine.
Club Captain Ultan Herr, playing alongside PGA Professional Leslie Walker (Dundalk Golf Club), said: “The scenery is amazing, the way you can play the course, the shape of the course, really is a challenge, but it's made out for every level of golfer, and that's really what's appreciated here. Plus, it's in perfect condition. We really, really enjoyed it.”
All players were able to take advantage of the SkyCaddie Pro 5X during their rounds at PGA National Italy, which helped them map their way around the course with success.
Molesworth said: “When you're coming to a brand new course in a new country, you have no idea about the course, so it's really helpful because it gives you a lot of stats, for example, your yardage of running out of room. And I can tell you now, on this course, you do not want to run out of room. As soon as you go into the rough, you're chipping back out, so that was super helpful today.”
