Reigning PGA Seniors champion Paul Wesselingh held off a late challenge from former Ryder Cup star Paul Broadhurst to take the honours at the Stourbridge Pro- Am.
Wesselingh (Kedleston Park) carded a four-under par 66 to finish a shot clear and take top prize in the event.
Broadhurst’s challenge came just too late, birdies on the final two holes leaving him on three-under for the tournament.
But the best finish came from Matt McGuire (Stoneleigh Deer Park). The Warwickshire player had been out of the reckoning until birdies on five of the last six holes fired him up the leaderboard to finish at two-under.
Andrew Cheese (Sutton Coldfield) and Andrew Willey (Notts) also broke par while local lad Richard Copsey (Enville) was one of three golfers on level par, helped by an eagle at the par five 9th.
It was a disappointing day for Stourbridge pair James Wheeler and Mark Male as they both finished down the field.
