Wins for Portelli and Stokes

Glen Portelli (Old Fold Manor) and Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range) have both made the winner’s circle this week, landing the top prize at the Hampstead and Wanstead Pro-Ams respectively.

Portelli triumphed for the fifth time this season, notching five birdies in acquiring 39 points. That was four more than Bobby Mitchell (South Herts) and Stokes.

Just 24 hours later, Stokes went one better with victory at Wanstead. He shot a four-under-par 69 to secure a two-shot success from Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall).

Talbott led the winning team at Wanstead, while David Salisbury (Three Rivers G&CC) was the professional in the winning quartet at Hampstead.
