Wood a cut above

Dan Wood (Brampton Wood) defied blustery conditions to win the latest Northamptonshire winter series event at Farthingstone Golf Club.

He fired a one-under-par 69 to claim top spot by two strokes from Simon Lilly (Golfers Choice) with three others tied third after 74s.

Former Midland No. 1 Lilly led his team to victory in the pro-am with a score of 130 (-10).
