ProAgenda.com’s Guy Woodman roared around The Berkshire’s Red course in 67 strokes to win the sixth event of the PGA South Winter Series with Titleist & FootJoy.
Woodman’s terrific five-under-par back nine was crowned with a glorious birdie at the 18th to take the £500 top prize away from runners up Martin Woodbridge (Bearwood Lakes) and Charlie Wilson (Littlestone), who both shot 68. The valuable ball, glove and shoe contract with Titleist & FootJoy went to Corhampton’s Adam Reid who shot a two-under-par 70 for fifth spot as the leading assistant.
81 players enjoyed top quality winter golf around one of the region’s most admired courses in very fair conditions for February. As Woodman commented: “It’s terrific to get the opportunity to play top quality courses at this time of year, especially as the ones we play are perfect for winter golf and in such good playing condition.”
“For me, it’s very encouraging to hit this sort of form early in the year, and 31 shots on the back nine with that birdie on the 18th will be good to think about when I’m playing in other events!”
