Worcestershire clubs back National Golf Month

Clubs across Worcestershire are backing National Golf Month with great value activities to support the drive to get more people playing the sport.

National Golf Month will be held across the UK in May and Worcestershire clubs will offer a wide range of opportunities to attract beginners and returners to the sport.

Activities on offer include:

Gaudet Luce Golf Club: On Saturday, May 10, the club is holding a FREE day when adults and juniors can come and try out all the latest equipment.  This will include FREE coaching and FREE equipment fitting (10am-3pm).

A family fun day takes place on Saturday, May 31.  The fun includes golf related sessions and all activities are FREE - including the latest craze- FootGolf (which is cross between football and golf).

Burghill Valley Golf Club: The club isoffering a FREE Familyimprover coaching course on Saturday, May 31, from 11.30am-12.30pm.

Hagley Golf Club: FREE taster sessions in May for female and male adults.  The club is also offering six group beginner sessions for £30. Tasters throughout May, for example on May 21 (7pm -8pm). A six-week course starts on Saturday, May 24(10am- 11am).

Wharton Park Golf Club: FREE tasters and Beginner sessions for five weeks at £25.  Beginner sessions on May 14 at 7pm.  Check website for more details.

Becketts Farm Driving Range: FREE taster session for ladies on May 6 from 11am-12pm.

Moseley Golf Club: FREE taster sessions on Wednesday, May 14, and Friday, May 16, both at 6pm for an hour with the club professional.

Warley Woods Golf Club: FREE Taster session at 6pm on Wednesday, May 7, followed by a six-week programme on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm with the club professional.

National Golf Month is a major campaign to offer beginners and 100,000 lapsed golfers opportunities to try the game.

Get into golf is a campaign which aims to inspire more adults in England to take up the sport, with low-cost structured coaching with PGA professionals.

Other clubs planning to run events during National Golf Month include Bromsgrove Golf Centre, Worcester Golf Range and Burlish Golf Club.
