A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of Golf Professionals at Elie. The historic village of Elie, birthplace of James Braid, is situated in the East Neuk of Fife, a short distance from the home of golf – St. Andrews. You will work alongside our existing team of Professionals and seasonal staff delivering exceptional service to members and visitors within the family environment of Elie Sports Club, as well as providing first-tee starting duties on the prestigious Elie Links 18-hole course.
Key Responsibilities
Working between the Professional Shop and Starter’s Office key day-to-day duties will include:
- Management of the 9-hole Baird course, tennis and paddle courts, and bowling green bookings
- Retailing to members and visitors in our expansive Professional Shop
- Professional Shop stock selection, display, and management
- Golf tuition, both on an individual and group basis
- Training and managing seasonal staff during the summer holidays
- Checking in golfers to the top 30 nationally ranked 18-hole Elie Links 18-hole course
Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have the following experience / skills:
- Highly self-motivated and able to learn new skills quickly
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to deal with the high demands during the very busy holiday periods at the club
- Previous experience in the golf industry would be advantageous but not essential
- Ideally have a playing handicap that meets PGA training requirements if still registered as an amateur
